We were going to reinforce the frame on our fifth wheel. After some of the paint was off. we found crack in the frame next to pin box on front cross member. Has anyone had this fixed? Where did you take it and how did they fix it? How much did it cost? Would appreciate any info you have.

Lippert builds over 60% of all frames so they may have more problems.

As for frequency, it certainly appears that Lippert frames get more repairs then any other, as frame issues with the firms that use someone else are rare.

Lippert may have more but not sure that others are rare??

Good plan, go to someone that knows what they are doing.

When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen, they might be right. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention, they probably know something you don't.

Yea, find a large commercial trailer repair shop. It might cost you a few dollars but the quality of the repairs will be well worth it in the end.

Last year we found cracks on both frame rails under the axles on our 5er. Took it to a trailer repair facility which repairs large commercial trailer frames. I had previously contacted Lippert about the cracks, and they sent me repair instructions. When I showed the owner of the trailer repair facility the cracks, he recommended repairing it virtually the same as Lippert. So I felt reasonably comfortable in what they were going to do. They repaired it for a reasonable cost and in only a couple of days. Apparently, cracks in trailer frames are not totally uncommon, so I thought it was best to go with a repair shop that did such work day in and day out.
