hitches for 5th wheels

Pull rite is one of the best hitches on the market. Have owned two TT hitches and fiver hitches...all Pull rites!

It is amazing how some folks have not kept up with the times. :h

been towing with short box F 250's for over 15 years and have not had the slightest need for a slider.

I have never needed a slider with a 6.5' bed. Sliders are over rated.

UNLESS someone has had several hitches, their recommendation is what they own.......unless they really made a bad (cheap-O) mistake.

Ask ten folks - which is best.
The answer is "the one I have".

Had another brand? - usually the answer is "No".

Same hitch as yours, a good friend with a B&W , and I can't see any difference in the hitching process. Same friend just bought a new ford with factory prep, and reese elite, it was no big deal to him to switch hitches from the B&W

Obviously everyone thinks the hitch they have in the back of their HD truck is the best. I won't even say which one I have but if I woke up tomorrow and Santa Claus had replaced my hitch with another brand, as long as it basically worked the same I could care less.

The original OP asked about needing a slider with a short bed. Don't know exactly what length short bed he has, but assume at least 6' or over.

Most folks that actually put tons of miles on larger fivers and use short beds trucks usually agree that because of the front design of newer FW's, a slider hitch is rarely if ever needed. The newer FW's are more rounded and edge cut on the front.

That being said, I went with a slider just so I would have it. Even though I have never needed it there could be a time when I would. If I ever had a really sharp cut on a huge dip that I absolutely could not avoid, then I may have to slide the hitch back.

So when you cut through several pages of "my hitch is better than yours" it may just boil down to your pocketbook and some general common sense.

I bought the pullrite non sliding hitch that is removable. Our truck is a longbox so a slider was not needed, plus our 12' Cougar has a high clearance front nose as well.

The quality is very nice, I got it for $900 and change from Tweetys.com a good $450-500 cheaper than the companion route. And with 4 pins, the hitch comes out and leaves a flat bed. They also offer a gooseneck adapter I believe for the rail system.
