I am looking at Honda generators and they have a EU2000i and a EU2000i Companion. The difference other than price is that they advertise that you need the 2000i companion if your running two units together. I only plan on using one unit when boon docking and that would be to make coffee or charge up the unit battery a bit. Am I correct in assuming I only need the 2000i, not the companion model. Thank you.

You could get either. They can both be run stand-alone. The difference for the "companion" model is that it has a 30 amp twist-on receptacle (you need that when running both units to get full output).
is that a standard RV 30 amp receptacle and is it powered when the unit is used as a stand alone? if so, why not get it?
