How tight are the lugs? Repacking bearings.

I have a 2017 Bighorn 3575 EL. I do not ave the Lippert axle book. The book I do have states I should read the axle book. I don't know how tight my lugs need to be once I put the wheel back on. I am guessing 125 foot-pounds, but I am not sure.

Any ideas?

THanks,
John

  • 9/16" can be torqued to 150# with washer type lug nuts and 130# for tapered.
  • I hope the factory didn't ruin mine.
I checked my new fw last week, and they were torqued to 170ft. lbs., I had to get a pipe to extend my breaker bar to loosen them to 120 ft.lbs.
  • From the link above, I read that 120 to 130 is what I should torque them to. Since my wrench was already set at 125, I went with it.

    Thanks guys.

FYI, you should always unload your torque wrench after using it....bring the setting back down to near zero....to keep it in calibration. I ruined my first one that way.
