At first I loved the ZEP floor sealer. Easy to apply & looked great! I was very careful to pre clean my RV with "Bar Keeper's Friend", remove any remaining dust and applied thin coats of ZEP allowing each to dry. The shine was great and has lasted more than a year. I have applied UV protectant multiple times each year. Recently, the ZEP coating on my end cap and drivers side has begun the crystalize and come off. Looks pretty bad.What is the best/fastest way to remove the ZEP coating and try another method of revitalization?I am using a "Cyclo" buffer with their orange cutting pad and a 1000 grit compound called "Renewzit" which also leaves behind a new sealant coat. However, it takes at least two passes to get the surface cleaned off and resealed. Its a lot of work, but seems to be working.Any ideas on easier/faster removal of the floor sealer?Thanks!

Lowe's has specific strippers for that stuff.

Most floor waxes will come up with good old liquid ammonia.And this is the reason I have been hesitant to use an indoor floor wax on my RV.Ken

ZEP makes a stripper which should get it off. I would suggest that instead of removing it, that if you have removed the crystalized layer, you simply apply a fresh coat of the ZEP. I previously applied 4-5 coats of mop and glo to the end caps of my MH and it looked great, along with the storage doors. After a year and bit it started to look weathered. I took some ammonia and tried to remove the stuff, and a) it took a long time, b) was a lot of work. Well, a few weeks ago I decided to get the MH looking good, so I washed it, bleached it, did the Barkeepers Friend where needed, and then spent two days re-applying Mop & Glo to the end caps and this time to the entire unit. The areas where it was applied before looked good after just a couple of coats, the new sections took the normal 4-5. The next day it rained, all was good, but I didn't like the way the water ran off the unit. So I went over the mh with one of the many spray on / wipe off detailing sprays with UV protection and now all is right.Just like wax on floors or normal car wax you have to reapply from time to time.

The label on your Zep product should tell what to use to remove it.Or, you can call Zep directly in the Atlanta area. They were in Cartersville until their factory burned earlier this year. Their offices are still there, however. Zep's also online.

Had the same problem after 2 years.Cleaned the area, reapplied, and still looking good after several months.I considered stripping, but was concerned about the impact of the stripper on the fiberglass.Now, when it starts coming off, just wash and apply. Still easier than wax on wax off.

I have used it on my boat, not RV, so this info may or may not work ..... I have found you don't have to remove it unless it has discolored - if it still looks clear or white, the new Zep will blend it in perfectly - if it has yellowed, you need to get it all off or it will show through. I have found using a "scotch brite" scrub pad with the stripper takes it off, but the stubborn spots need more elbow grease than a brush can apply .....

I'm currently trying to strip my 5er and I'm running into some tough spots. I have tried zep stripper mixed as directed and ammonia/water. I have stripped a lot of the old zep off but still have blotchy patches that I can't seem to get fully off. I'm applying with a car wash brush, letting it sit, then another scrub then rinse. Should I try straight stripper or just go over the blotches with new zep finish?

I ended up using the stripper full strength. But some damage to the 2001 model's decals at the edges. Not all just some. Poli glow applied as of last summer with 2 more applications last month.

Tried it. Didn't work, too mild. The Zep stripper I used would probably take the skin off your hands if you aren't careful. You mix 4 parts of stripper with 1 part of water. Strong stuff.

I finally used a lot of scrubbing and Zep floor wax stripper. A couple washings and most of it came off. Looked awful. Brought it in and had it primed, base coat and clear coat paint. $1,050.00 to do just the rear cap. Now it looks like it always should have, better than new!

I did mine about 2.5 years ago and sits in the hot desert sun, and it finally peeled. I removed it recently with ZEP Wax remover and redid it looks great. this is an older trailer that looks great when done. If it is newer and just a bit tired I might just wax and polish.

I was thinking of doing the ZEP Floor Polish on my 1990 Class C. I've read the procedure and it looked like it would be a nice way to revitalize the dull fiberglass.

Reading this thread is giving me second thoughts.

I've used the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser worked great on the door and trim, now I just need to find something to re-seal it.

Use the ZEP stripper at Home Depot. Acetone is cheap but evaporates quickly. The ZEP not so much and will last longer so I think the stripper cost would be a wash

I with the posters on this one! Looks good in the beginning, but I can't believe how much Winnie has yellowed. It's much more noticeable in the light colors. How about acetone to remove ZEP?
