If you're going to Lake Powell, the problem is the water level. I was there about a month ago and the level was the lowest I'd ever seen. Castle Rock was totally out of the water; no way to get to Warm Creek Bay except going around the long way.

But the road is just fine. You'll have to go a little slower than the 'old' road in some places, but you'll have NO trouble with the route.
