am interested in hearing from those that have either or both of the these features which would give the best cushioning of the trailer when towing. My trailer currently has a MorRyde leaf spring/equalizer suspension and a MorRyde pin box.

Does anyone know whether using a Trailer Saver TS3 to pull a Trailair-equipped 5er will create more bumps rather than fewer?

By all accounts, B&W makes a fine hitch. But those of us who tow with an air hitch won't go back to a non-air hitch. They are THAT good.

I am sure they are great! I am happy with the TrailAir airbag kingpin and truck bags.

our Heartland Landmark has the Mor/Ryde pin box. And with a normal hitch stuff was over the camper while traveling. After getting a Trailer Saver TS3 stuff does not move on the same roads these days.
After moving up to the Kodiak c5500 only pulled the camper one time with the B&W companion hitch that was on it. And mounted the TS3 and will never tow again without the air ride hitch.

Our HH Champagne is towed with a Hensley Trailer Saver TS3 air ride hitch, Mor/Ryde IS suspension and a Demco Glide pin box. Tows very well.

I think the TS3 hitch with two air bags and two shocks will be a bit softer on the pin than a air ride pin box with one air bags that runs at a higher pressure. Of course, the pin box cost less than the TS3.

With the sorry state of the roads in this country, you need to try to soften the ride for the trailer as much as possible.

I have the MorRyde pinbox and also a Hensley air hitch. I get a great ride. Almost heaven. No chucking and no bouncing due to potholes, cracks in the road, etc. I fulltime and found out long ago that having the right equipment makes all the difference. I positively enjoy going down the road.

It's important to understand that the MorRyde pinbox works to alleviate back and forth 'chucking' and that the air hitch helps with decreasing/eliminating up and down motion from bad highways, railroad tracks, etc. These are two separate types of motion. And I think the truck's longevity is increased as well as the 5er's.

I especially like the air hitch. There's an insulation factor at work - The truck does not pass along any abrupt pothole bounces to the 5er, and the 5er does not pass along anything to the truck.

My 5er also has OEM shock absorbers and I'm sure that helps too; just not sure how much.

MorRyde IS and an air hitch such as the Hensley Trail Saver or similar. Especially with these heavy units.

My previous fiver had a terrible ride and within the first 6 months, I decided something needed to be done. My opinion at the time was an aftermarket pin box or hitch just isolated the driver from the problem while improving the trailer suspension would help with reliability of the trailer and driver comfort. While both improvements might be needed, it seemed like the suspension improvement was the higher priority. So I had Mor/ryde install their IS suspension. Never felt the need for anything more and kept the fiver for 7 yrs.

X2!!

So many approach ride issues while towing with band-aids!

If you fix the root cause of the ride issue you will be far better off. Get the 5er as near level as possible, nose high will not ride well, have enough pin weight. wet bolts, and shocks on the 5er. Good Shocks on the TV, I run Bilstein's.
I will adding Correct Track to bring to level and wet bolts this Spring, once that is done I expect a smooth ride.
