Insurance for NEW Fiver, Home, & Truck

I've been lazy and have stayed with Metlife for 30yrs for home, Rv, & truck. Just upgraded to my NEW 2014 Montana Mountaineer up in Seattle and thought it was time to save a dime or two. My father-in-law was visiting and he's a retired Insurance guy. Gave no advise but hinted towards Gieco on a buzz. I want all in one coverage. Any advise???
  • GEICO is OK, not the cheapest, but not in the most expensive class either. I switched from State Farm to GEICO 2 1/2 years ago for the car, truck, & RV. Significant savings across the board, plus better coverage provided for the RV.

GEICO does not write homeowners' insurance. The coverage (at least here in Florida) is issued and underwritten by a third party company even though you apply for it through GEICO. But, even the established companies that used to write stick n' brick coverage in Florida now use the so-called "boutique" companies that popped up like weeds. Florida's property and casualty insurance market got stood on its head by the hurricane season of 2004. I'm fortunate I still have homeowners' coverage with State Farm.......but I pay dearly for it.
  • We have everything through Allstate. We review our coverage and get quotes from others every 4 or 5 years and have switched a few times. Currently Allstate is much lower than Geico, Progressive, State Farm etc. The company thats lowest for one person could be the highest for another. Have to shop around.
  • It all depends on what you are, looking for, price, coverage, what happens to your rates after a claim (many don't check into this before deciding company), having an agencynformservicing or doing it on your own. You won't get all with one company.
  • I have American National (anpac). Because of the home/car/life, the RV insurance was also discounted.. $300/6 months. (not fulltime, with full replacement coverage on MSRP value of 82k), $500 deductible.

I went to Anpac 15yrs ago after Prudential non-renewed me cause I made three claims in 3 years, after being a customer for 18 consecutive years. (altho I never collected any money for the claims).
  • As an AARP member I went with Hartford for the vehicles and saved a bunch over Progressive. Homeowners is a different story.....
  • Just went through what you are doing after bring with AAA for over sixty years. If you leave off the home Esurance was by far the best but there quote with the home was higher than most. I ended up with Hanford (Citizens) for two vehicles, home and RV. Good luck
  • We've had Amica for years for our home, autos and RV's.

    Check them out.
