Insurance on a 2021 Fifth Wheel
All, just bought a new fifth wheel and I am curious to hear what insurance most carry. We have a note on the trailer and I obviously what replacement cost on the trailer. Any recommendations are welcome.

- Our lender requires full replacement coverage. Our insurance agent ended up recommending Nationwide. Right around $500/year for the unit we have. This is not connected with our truck insurance at all.

We had Progressive on our last Fiver.... When It was totaled, we had a check in hand for full purchase price ( we had full replacement ) and tax paid within 3 weeks ..
We now have the same policy on this Redwood as well.... What great company to deal with..- It is worth considering to get an agent that works for you and not the insurance company and the dealership. Also, watch out for the low balls where they charge a low price for the first year and increase it well above inflation the following years.

- We spoke with USAA aka Progressive. Lots of options and I was curious what most folks are doing. Agreed on the comprehensive, in my opinion it’s a must. I’m just hoping to cash in on everyone’s wisdom!
- Berkshire Hathaway owns both Forest River and Geico, so they understand RV's. Easy to work with. At my time and place they were also the cheapest. This might change the next time.
- Each state has their own insurance laws and rates. Make sure whoever you are talking to knows that you are in TX. If that's a faux address it can get tricky. Comp will probably be a different policy than your truck policy.
- No one can tell you which one is best for you. It depends on where you live, if you can bundle and even your credit report. Just get out and shop them all.
Ken - Share your new purchase with your truck’s insurer. Their exposure has greatly increased.
