Is a long bed a requirement for pulling a 5th wheel?

Looks like we're going to switch to a 5th wheel so I need to buy a truck. Do I need a long (8') bed or will a short (6'4") bed be sufficient. Im not worried about other cargo and the short bed would b...

You ever wonder why there are so many kinds of heavy duty trucks out there? Day cabs, sleepers, single axle or dual? It's because different needs require different tools. You just have to pick the truck that's right for you. There's no one size fits all regardless of what you may read here.
