Jack Antenn's

Ok saw Jack Antenna on another post. Anyone have one and how do they work. Like in So Cal Deserts
  • I replaced the Omni with a Jack. It works much better. It gets great HD reception. Frankly the Omni would not pull a signal 3 miles from the stations.

I will say for distant VHF the Jack won't pull like Directional Batwing on a periscope. However, the Jack is a straight-in replacement. I am not sure how I would mount a periscope. I was in Buena Vista, Colorado, and my neighbors had the directionals, I couldn't get anything on the Jack even when I adjusted. I was told you could get a some VHF there. When I was in Denver it worked great.

I guess I should try this. It would be a better direct replacement for my Frisbee.

    Lava Electronics antenna

I saw the press release last week on those, my BS flag went up on the claim about no fading while in motion.

One of the (largely) unexpected things that happened with digital TV is how bad TV "in motion" is. To the point where a new "upgrade" of the current digital encoding is being researched

I replaced my Jensen antenna with a Jack and increased the number of usable channels where I park my TT from 2 to 20. I don't know if this speaks particularly well for the Jack or the inferiority of the Jensen.

The Jensen is junk, the Jensen on my rig was getting 3, the Radio-Shack "flyer saucer" I replaced it with (same location) gets 44
