Jayco 31.5BHDS, 2008

Thinking about the jayco super lite 31.5bhds. 4 grandkids don't fit in my arctic fox 30u very well. Anyone have experience with this model or jayco 5th wheels in general? Thank you.
  • I bought a 2005 RKS31 Jayco Designer 1.5 yrs ago and have used it during this time. I felt it was a well built 5th wheel and still feel that way.
  • We own a Jayco 31.5BHDS, 2008 Model. One of the issues is that in the front area where the bunks are, it can get warm if you camp in hot climates i.e. south during the summer months. We have a 15,000 BTU AC unit, and it is not enough to keep that area cool. Possibly they have improved the air distribution system on newer models. We also had both frame rails crack above the axles. I suspect that this problem is not unusual with the manufacturers making trailers as light as possible now days. This also may have been re-engineered but frames are now being made by Lippert so I don't know. (The frame on my trailer was made by Dexter which the frame manufacturing division was bought out by Lippert sometimes after 2008. Any other questions or information, just send me a pm. Of course we have had other minor issues to deal with, but I would consider them typical for any RV.
  • We have a 2010 Jayco 31.5 RLDS and the only issue we have with it is that the bedroom (front of rig) gets very hot when the furnace kicks on. The rest of the interior is much cooler to the point of being too cool. I've tried re-distributing the heat but it didn't help. We have two Ac's so the cooling issue is non-existent.
  • Please dont buy a Jayco.. of any kind.. we bought one in 09.. nothing but problems and I dont mean minor issues.. major all the way.. it has cost us more than its worth.. we are presenting going to get rid of ours.. sick of putting money into it.
