I tried the two roof top racks for 10 foot kayaks, but felt the set up left too much overhang in the front for 5R application. I felt the wind at 60 mph or faster put too much pressure on the front rack to be safe.
There are some shorter kayaks out there that should work with this set up though.
I also see those that pull trailers who can center their canoes and kayaks on the top of the cab that make it work.
Not saying you can't make it work, just be safe.
