Keeping top bunk raised

I'm sure this was probably one of those DUH moments, but for the past four years we have owned our toy hauler, the one thing I have not liked is when lowering the bunks, we couldn't lower the bottom bunk without lowering the top bunk as well. It would be nice to have the extra headroom when using the bottom bunk as sitting area, etc. Then what do you know, while cleaning the other day, I see there are holes for pins up near the top of the tracks, which just happen to line up with the bottom of the top bunk's frame. So by purchasing some pins and putting them in these holes while the bunks are raised, I can now lower the bottom bunk while the top one remains in place.

I'm sure 99% of you knew this, so I post this for that 1% who like me, had no idea.
  • Just picked up a FA3005 Ragen and the HJ pins were still in the owners package. We intend to pin it up.
  • On mine the holes on one side are just a little higher than the other, which requires one of us to push up on the bed while the other puts in the pins.
  • For some reason, the holes on one side of my HJ are smaller than the other. No problem, I'll just use a big nail...Fail. Nail popped out while moving. Luckily, nothing broke.

The dealer told us we could do that with our coachman adrenaline, where do you get the pins?

    Happijack sells them!

Now if could figure how to turn on the outside speakers.
  • This is funny.

we just bought the happijacks and I asked hubby how to keep the bed at the very top instead of it coming down. He said, DUH, just put the pins in it at the top and it stays there :) :) He knew, I sure didn't.

1% needs this info. worth posting
