Just like you I bought and tried a Kingpin tripod. After 2 trips out with the rig, I purchased and installed the JT Stabilizer system and haven't looked back. Tremendous difference in stability. I installed mine myself and it is a bit more to it then just a few hours. You will need really GOOD drill bits and safety goggles and maybe even a 3/8 tap to thread the holes for a better fit. Well worth the work in the end. My wife and I are both hefty folks and the JT's have made the unit much more stabil when parked then just a tripod. If you lived closer --- I would give you my tripod.
