..........I need to Coat my Rubber Roof with some kind of Protective Coating ! The Kool Seal premium product seems like a good product , But I'm not sure IF it is compatable with a Rubber roof . So , has anyone applied this product to their rubber roof and what was your results after it was painted on ? Seems like it takes 2 or 3 applications to get it thick enough for proper protection . , thanks , jf

Purchased Dicor sealant, tape, primer and coating in 2010. Cleaned the roof with a brush and water. Cleaned off excess layers of sealant. Used the 6 inch tape all the way around the top of the RV covering the lap sealant with tape. Re-chalked(sealed) vents and such. Did not use primer(didn't want to rinse off...had just waxed it) Put 2 coats of coating on. It was so bright you needed shades while in the shade. To this day (2015) it is still white and bright, Taping all the way around seemed to make it so I never have to seal the edges again.
Of course you should always inspect your roof for any issues, however, this is the course I took and it has work wonders.
I wonder if 5 year old sealant, primer and coating(paint) is still good....Hmmm

rvrev2 I applied the Duck Coat on my 1997 5th last summer so as far as how long it will actually last .... who knows.
I gave the roof a really good scrubbing and allowed to completely dry. First I applied a thin primer coat, then 2 thick coats as recommended by the manufacturer. It sure gave my faded old rubber roof a new look! With my roof being in good condition other than turning mostly black I couldn't justify the cost of a new rubber roof. Duck Coat was a relatively cheap alternative that made a 100% improvement!

Howdy Tom. Have you used Duck Coat on an RV? If so, how was the application process and how did it hold up?

I am looking at possibly using the Liquid Rubber like the others suggested, but am open for alternatives like the OP.

Coatings for EPDM roofs on RVs are largely a scam. The EXACT same product is used on 1000s of commercial buildings across the country and the manufacturers of the products have no recommendations for maintenance. I clean mine just because I don't like the way it looks when it's covered with brown mildew but it's purely for cosmetic reasons.
