Landing Gear

When traveling down the road, do most people remove the pads/mud sills from the landing gear or do they leave them attached? This is my first year with a 5th wheel. Thank you.
  • If those come into contact with anything when fully retracted you've got bigger problems.... as in the rear axle of your truck and half the bed will be missing :) :)

If they retract far enough, leave them on. Half of the pull-trailers need to remove them, but 5th wheels usually do not.
  • Mine stays on. I have never seen or heard of one being removed for travel. They aren't going to come into contact with anything during travel if they are fully retracted.
