Landmark vs Redwood

We have a 2004 Carriage Carrilite and are looking at trading up to a 2013 - 2013 model year. My wife and I have found 2 Landmark floor plans as well as 2 Redwood floor plans that we like. Any feedback from owners of either would be appreciated. Thanks
  • I've had a Landmark since 2011 and love it. This has been the best trailer that I've ever owned. The new ones are rated and warranted for full time use. I don't know about Redwood.

Your Carri Lite was a good trailer in its day but its getting on it age.
  • I would keep the old Carrilite and do some refurbishing before I'd go with Redwood or Heartland.

You have a good trailer now.

  • Go look at a DRV Mobile Suites. Even one a couple years older would be a better choice.

  • Also, be aware that new Cameos are also built in the Redwood factory. Could be an option as well. Ours has Redwood stickers all over it
  • Going to keep my Carriage as long as possible but if you are trading up then I would look seriously at the Landmark and for where you are located I would check out RV's for Less in Knoxville TN. Really discount prices on all units they have new or used.
  • If memory serves me when researching 5th wheels for full timing the Landmark had a 12" "I" beam framing and the Redwood had a 10" "I" beam framing.
  • When we were looking to change from our RL to an MB (Front Master Bath) floor plan we tried to look at most that offered that floor plan. There were some nice features we liked about the Land Mark, but in the end we felt the Redwood offered the most useable storage space.
We had one major issue, but not Redwood fault, was a bad hydraulic slide cylinder which was replaced at the Crossroads/Redwood Service Center under warranty.
  • I have been in my "16" Redwood 38RL since last July AND LOVE IT ! Just like any trailer, you stand the chance to have some issues... I just had it at the dealer last week for a day for 3 small warranty issues..
-adjustment of cabinet door above dish washer
-outside LED's stopped working on second awning - - Carefree is replacing
-tank sensors always reading 3/4 -replaced all sensors

If you get a chance , hop over to the Redwood forum and ask some questions to the owners - -Redwood RV owners Group
