Levelair Leveling bags

Greetings all,

Have been reading several older posts on the DIY leveling air bags and would like to hear from people who use them or have made them.

I get the ease of leveling part but my concern is an extra cushion of air would make the fifth wheel bouncy.

With the advancement of cross bars or Strongarm braces is that enough to eliminate the bouncing that I believe would occur.

Looking forward to the responses.
  • I love mine. See link below on how to make them.

5 years running on them. Very easy to use with a hand pump. I back up once and level as close as I want to on the level bubble.

The concern on stability is unfounded from my point of view, the material is similar construction to a tire, so look at it like it is a tire that you are inflating to raise the tire off the ground. Whatever bounce you get out of the tires on your trailer will be similar to the bounce you get on the air bags.

Good luck, you won't be disappointed.
  • Hi,

I already have rear air bags in my class C. I'm considering adding front ones to be able to level with air. An on board compressor would be a good idea, with remote switches in place.
  • What could be easier than driving up on a couple of wood blocks or Lynx Levelers?

Air bags: require you to still drive up on them and then get out an air compressor and fiddle with that and then there is the loss of air/leak possibility, and the bounce....all WAY too complicated.
  • I think I have a pair of levelairs up in the atic. They don't "bounce". They don't hold air either. I think some more bolts on the ends might help. I don't have any problems with boards, which are easyier than messing with levelairs.
  • Richard, I had two set of these several years ago. They did not work. They lost air overnight and bent the rear stabelizers. The manufacture replaced them and paid for the damage but the second set failed also. They since went out of that business. On the rig I had at that time I had a Big Foot auto leveling system installed and no longer need to level.
    Hope this helps.
