looking at 5th wheels with rear kitchen

Hi All,

According to SWMBO we're going to step up to a fifth wheel this coming spring. I went the camper route with current rig three years ago and I thought we'd be using it with my fishing buddies, we've only used it once.

We're ok buying used and we've checked out several rigs but two things we noticed in several designs, the kitchens are about the same size and footprint as the one we have in our AC 1150 and you have to watch TV from the back through the dinette and kitchen.

To those that have a rear kitchen, please let us know what year and model you have, around the 2000-2008 models there are several so if you have one please let me know the year and model.

Thanks for your participation and smooth roads to you all!

WE have a 30 ft cougar X lite and love it. It only weighs 7000 empty. So far, we towed it from Pa to Cal to Fl with no issues and lived in it for three winters. Check the Keystone website for the Cougar rear kitchen floorplans, they have quite a few.

2014 Winnebago 26FWRKS. I believe they've made this same floorplan 2013-2015. For those that want a lighter, shorter rear kitchen Winnebago has the 2017 25RSK. Only 27', 8500lbs GVWR.

Thanks for posting the brochure, do you know where I can find other brochures for Triple E for different years? Also, do you know how they compare to General Coach Citation Supreme/Corsiar Excella for winter insulation in walls, roof and floors?

Not too sure how popular they were in the US, Triple E makes a fifth wheel line called the Topaz. They have several models that have a rear kitchen and build quality is second to none.

No lippert frames, Dexter 8 lug axels and 16" wheels... List goes on.

Not too sure how close to the Canadian border you are? You could come up here and save a bunch of $ with the difference in the dollar. Not sure on the size your looking for but here is a FS280RK for sale in Alberta. FS280RK Topaz

Here is the same model the wife and I have F251SF. We chose this one because of its short length 27' overall. I tow a 18' Lund Fisherman behind this FW and so far its been great.

Your welcome. More brochures here clicky

No I don't know how they compare to the rv's you listed, they are four season rated.

Heartland 265 RK is a rear kitchen. Like having a separate kitchen in the trailer where you don't need to walk through each time you move around. Good cabinets and counter space.

For our third Fifth wheel we went with a used 2004 wilderness lite 24.5R and we like the rear kitchen, seems to allow more counter space.

Our Excel Winslow is a rear kitchen model that we really like. Lots of room and nice, big rear windows. Anything Peterson made with RKM in the model number will be a rear kitchen I'm pretty sure. Ours is a 2013 but won't be listed in the models for that year because they discontinued them early in that year's run. I know they made them in 2012 and probably previously. Also there were some in the Limited version.

Worst design iv ever seen, they collect ALL of the road dirt.

Not
Really an issue, they all gather dirt.

Hummm...I have had both RL and RK rigs and never noticed any appreciable difference with dirty refrigerators (vents)...if that is what the comment is addressing.

Our reefer is in the rear and has never been an issue for us to include "road dirt". I guess I could understand why that would be a problem IF you're driving dirt roads at highway speeds! :R
