looking for shortest possible bunkhouse with slides

Hi. Looking to downsize from the big toy hauler FW. Some of the campgrounds I want to go to are simply too tight for a forty footer.

So, I'm trying to figure out what my options are for a shorter bunkhouse FW. I'm looking at the Laredo 33 foot bunkhouse, but winding if there is something shorter and maybe a bit stouter. Needs...
Do not need a toy hauler.
Do need a bunkhouse for the kids.
Do want a dedicated bathroom, not a bedroom with a sink, shower or toilet in it.
Do want a dinette and sofa.
Would love 28 footer and four slides. :-)
  • We have a 2014 Palomino Puma 259RBSS (actual length 30'). One large slide (U-shaped dinette and sofa) and full bunks. Has a dedicated bathroom. We camp exclusively in County/State/Federal parks which have max size usually at 26'-30'. If they ask (and they never do)I would tell them my trailer is 26'.

  • I doubt you're going to find a 28 ft. fiver with four slides. I could be wrong. Since you're already a Heartland Owner, you may want to check out Sundance XLT line. There's a couple that come close to what you're looking for.
  • I have a 2010 Rockwood 8281 SS that has two slides, one for the rear bunkhouse. Bunkhouse has a queen futon sofa and a single bunk over. There is also a 1/2 bath. U-shaped dinette. The newer model is 8281WS that has the same, but added a wardrobe slide in the master. I know Rockwood is not exactly top of the line, but we are just finishing 4 seasons with no problems other than a slide motor giving out last year. I have twin 12 year old daughters and a 14 year old son. And a small dog. Has served us well.
