Just getting into the fiver life as my wife and I are headed south for the winter . Is there a place where we can get a combo set or do you not recommend this ? I'd appreciate any feed back .

yes. New Horizons works with Utility Bodywerks and will do a complete package. Gonna be pricey but certainly a good way to go.bigdon68Maryland

If the latter, many times when individuals or couples are getting out of RVing for health or other reasons, they'll try to sell the 5th wheel and truck as a package. Check the typical used RV advertising sources as well as the advertising sections of those RV forums that have them and you may run across some good deals.Rusty

There are probably 10s of thousands of trucks for sale and thousands of Fifth Wheels. If you limit yourself to only those that are both truck and RV combos you are going to miss 99% of the available rigs. The odds of finding what you want in both of them is going to be even less. I wouldn't automatically eliminate a combination, but it sure wouldn't be my focus. Personally, I would find the fifth wheel that worked first, then get the truck, since trucks are much more generic than the RV portion. That being said, I would have narrowed down my truck preferences (i.e. Diesel or gas; Ford, GM or Dodge; new or used etc.) That way you can pretty quickly put your entire rig together.

I wouldn't advocate financing both and agree that I can't see a bank doing that for the reasons WesternRVParkOwner stated. But, another reason to have them separate is the RV/TT/5er loan usuallly meets the requirements of a second home and thus the interest is deductible.

If you need the tow vehicle, I think it's at least worth looking at what you could get in a Class A and tow or rent for a get around car. You would need to check to see if you daily driver can be towed 4 wheels down.

2012 Alpine/F350 long bed combo

This is a nice combo in Clute, TX which is south of Houston, TX. Just information for you that nice combos are out there.

I already found it on Facebook. Do you use FB? If so, look at the top post in the "W. Iowa-Nebraska: RVs,Campers, Tents For Sale" group. Basically 60K for a 2014 Silverado and a 2012 Open Range 5er. Here is a screenshot:
