Hi, I have the same pin box and also needed just a couple of inches for more clearance. did this 2 weeks ago, Towed it a couple hundred miles including some rough dirt roads and it worked well. I was also worried about the bolts below the angle iron but it does not appear to be an issue.

Currently you have 6 bolts per side
IF you 'lower' pin box are you still going to have 6 bolts per side?
Any adjustment on hitch to 'raise' it?

Are you just going to lower it 1 bolt hole down, it will be fine, but 2 bolt holes down and olny using 3 bolts per side, hmmm I wouldn't do that

Mine looks pretty much just like yours, angle braces and all, and it is mounted in the lower holes.

How level is the trailer now? Dropping the pin box will make the trailer about 2 more inches nose high.
