Just returned from 8 days in the Coronado Forest / Catalina
mountains. Campsite snuggles up to base of the mountains, with
appropriate great views. Very enjoyable, crisp mornings, hoodie
sweater evenings, low 80's daytime. 2 days of gusty winds up
to 35-45 mph. Looking forward to a winter filled with desert
camping.
Some observations....
- cheers to the forumite that shared the coffee-cup-microwave
cake... two minor improvements.. handful of chocolate chips in
the base of the cup (almost creates icing when dump out cake),
and Baileys substituted for half of the water ... delicious.
-the 7qt. electric frying pan is an overwhelming success...
unfortunately, the Faberware lacks an off /on button... minor
issue but need to unplug to shut off.
-check the screws on your fan blades... lost one...probably on
the top of the slider... wobbly mess...unusable, and, finding
the appropriate replacement screw has proven frustrating.
-parked two wheels off the asphalt, corrective action requested
by the camp host...complied.
-one small scorpion located (prior to sting), little dude had
all kinds of attitude.... chose wisely in any item you bring
outside the fiver to inside the fiver.
-I still stink at backing up the fiver, but at least I'm
providing good humor to fellow campers... one couple turned
their chairs around to watch the show.
-Large group of Casita campers in the campsite.... As I'm over
6'1" I'm not sure I see one in my future, but they were very
cool looking "self-contained" units.
very nice campsite...
