IBcarguy... I was curious, are you using the 4" offset ball as well? I'm looking at the Anderson hitch and I'm interested in getting the Jayco 30.5 MOBH. I drive a 2016 Silverado 2500hd w/t a 6 1/2' bed and It has the B&W turnover system in it. I'm just worried about the 5th wheel hitting my truck. I will be new at this and don't want to have to worry about. I also didn't want a big slider in my truck because I need my bed space when I'm not towing and like how the Anderson could be easily removed.
thanks
Same set up as mine. I bought a B&W 4" offset ball but was unable to use it. The ball is 1" higher and the AU hitch wouldn't lay down flat against the bed so I went back to using the standard straight ball. I reversed the pin adapter to shorten the swing radius of the pinbox for increased bed rail clearance but in tight turns, you really got to watch the trailer clearance at the back window because reversing the adapter moves the trailer closer to the cab. Normal turns are fine, but hard turning when backing gets really close. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought the B&W Companion hitch instead of the Andersen. It's removable in 2 pieces (not real heavy) and can be used with the 4" offset ball. They also make a sliding version of the Companion.
