- Old-BiscuitExplorer IIIHave you looked at the backside of water heater.....accessed from inside RV?
On the backside Cold water inlet will be the bottom line going into WH Tank, Hot water outlet will be the top line coming out of WH Tank and the Bypass will be on the line connecting Cold & Hot lines
Valving could be combination of all kinds of valves
3 valve....cold/bypass/hot each have a shutoff valve
2 valve...cold/bypass have valves and hot just a check valve
2 valve...cold/hot have 3-way valves
1 valve...cold have a 3-way valve and hot a check valve
SO access backside of WH Tank and then follow lines/valving to understand which system you have - trickto322Explorerthere is an owners forum montanaowners.com could give you an answer I am sure

The owner's manual says it is "somewhere near the water heater".
Can anyone be more specific?.
Why is the owners manual on a 15k car ten times better than on a 50K fifth wheel?
government mandates - downtheroadExplorerIf there is a by pass.. (some don't have them) It will be on the backside of the water heater. Access from a panel, or inside a cabinet or behind a drawer from the inside of your trailer.
