I have owned 4 Montana's and 1 Landmark which is made by Heartland and is top of the line for them. The Landmark was a POS, traded it for a 2015 Montana which is comparable to the Big Horn and there is no comparison. Go with a Keystone and stay away from the Heartland Products
A Montana HC is not in the same category as a Montana. The HC cuts corners to get the weight and price lower. I too would take a Montana over a BigHorn but not a High Country. I was excited to see the HC when it was 1st put out. But one walk thru and it was scratched off the list.
Yes I know my levels of Keystone RVs as well as the Heartlands!!!! - topjimmyExplorerActually Me Again the old Moutaineer in now the base Montana WITHOUT the LEGACY PKG the High Country did not change as the entry level Montana,So Montana goes in this order: the High Country then next up is the base Montana and then the top of the line is the Montana with the LEGACY Pkg., the High Country competes with the Heartland Elkridge or Sundance,The base Montana competes with Heartlands Big Country and the Montana with the LEGACY pkg competes with the Heartland Big Horn
- Me_AgainExplorer IIIThe HC is the old Mountaineer, where a piece of paper will blow off the corner with all the doors and windows closed.

- Hunter11Explorer IIThe one good thing I will give Heartland is their warranty. And believe me we have used ours to the max over the last 22 months. That is the only positive I will give them.

- goducks10ExplorerIf you want to know about quality, then go check them out. Pull some drawers open and see how they are made and what thickness of wood they use.
Look at the furniture and see where it comes from and then sit in it.
Look at how the inside of the basement is plumbed and finished and also look to see if they use inferior OSB board.
Look the suspension and see which units have 15" or 16" tires and how many lug nuts on the rims.
Then look at what type of slide out mechanisms are used. Are they using a rack and gear drive, cable or Schwintek.
Next look at the warranty.
From my experience of just looking, I'd take a Big Horn over a Montana HC any day.
There's a reason the Big Horn costs about $10-15,000 more and weighs about 1500lbs+ more when empty. - DumoldlesExplorerHeartland comparable to Montana Highcountry: oakmont or Sundacnce
Dumoldles - lee_worsdellExplorerI have a couple of friends with big horns and landmarks ,they have not had any issue with there units. But myself I have had numerous problems with my crossroads rushmore. I would trade in a flash for big country or big horn but just purchased this rushmore
