My first trip to Dollywood area campgrounds

This is first trip to Dollywood area camping I have a fifth wheel . We have been camping for six years alway camp local in in NC or go to Myrtle beach what's some good campgrounds in that area . And things to do ??

We are going to Anchor Down resort in a few weeks ourselves. That is a fairly new cg. We also prefer staying way away from it all and driving to whatever it is we want to do.

Go "generic" - often folks only visit a forum for the type of the RV they have.

*All* RVers will visit (and recommend) campgrounds, so........

Anchor Down RV Resort is a good choice. and a very nice place, right on Douglas Lake. It's in Dandridge and it's just a few minutes from all the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg stuff. Staying at Anchor Down, you don't have all the traffic. You can camp there and drive to all the fun... without your camper in tow.

We liked Bear Cove Village. It's about 1 mile or so away from Dollywood...the delux sites are worth the money.

I stayed at Twin Creek RV Resort about 6 years ago. Its a nice place. Very quiet. Nice pool. They are on the trolley line into downtown Gatlinburg. I have two boys, at the time they were around 5 and 3 years old.
They have a really nice aquarium in Gatlinburg.

Might I suggest rvparkreviews.com. I have found them to be fairly accurate.

Pine Mountain is also our favorite. Close to town, close to Dollywood, but behind a knoll so you don't get the noise off the parkway. Larger sites than most places, but they are by no means large. Clean sites, clean pools, clean bath house.

The cable is the same at all the campgrounds that has it, but it is sorry.

The KOA in Pigeon Forge is very nice and is close to everything.
