The 450 has always had the "wide-track" steering which gives it better steering than a 250 or 350. Just look at where the front tires are on a 350 and then look at your 450. This wider stance allows a much shorter turning radius.
Actual it is the wheel cut angle that gives it a better turning radius. The wider stance in the spindle/king pin area is what allows for a greater cut angle. 4x4 are normally more restricted on wheel cut angle because of the U joint at the spindle.
Those that tow with Volvo 610's and 670's know all about this, as they turn much tighter that pickup trucks.
