The RV one seems to be nice because it has the database of all the things that would interest RVers, while the trucker one is nice because it has all the truckstops/FlyinJ's listed.
We did not explore the trucker version, since the rv version was more applicable to our situation, plus the navigation system on our truck shows us fuel stops and names them. I think you have pinpointed the differences, probably either would work in warning you of low clearance sites.
