Need advice with a possible deal

There is a dealership that has two locations. One is 2 hours from us and the other is 5 hours away. I thought I was calling the one closer to us, but accidentally called the one farther away.

They had a 5er that I was interested in, so I wound up talking with that salesman anyway. He offered to have it delivered to the location closer to us, if we could agree on a price and put down a refundable deposit.

I said I would talk it over with my DH and let him know tomorrow. Then, I got to thinkin'... How can I agree on a price on a unit that I had not even seen, except in the photos? That does not make sense to me. Is this something that is commonly done? Agree on a price to have it moved to another location?

Janegowest...and/or MookieCat (your other username) You should be ashamed of yourself. You have been using two different user names here
since the fall of 2013!! You've been asking the same sort of questions for close to 3 years. Is it entertainment for you? I doubt that you'll ever buy anything. You even use your MookieCat name to defend criticism of people remarks to your Janegowest handle for asking too many repetitive questions. You have all these people responding to your hundreds of questions trying to help you out for no apparent reason.
You should google "other hobbies" and see if you can find something to fill up your time instead of drawing in everybody here.

Janegowest...do you have two screen names? Is this you too?

Interesting observation and may explain a few things.

I can understand that it smelled musty if it had been shut up, sitting on a lot for a while. This is easily remedied - open all the windows for a week or so and let it air out.

Hi everyone! Sorry...been out of pocket! We have had our hands full, with our goats kidding all week!! Lots of babies to tend to!! That is one of the reasons that we could not go stay overnight anywhere these days, due to goat kidding season!

Anyway...yes, we did decide against that trailer earlier due to the weight (because we thought that we did not want a dually), but changed our minds after test-driving a dually and feeling comfortable about it.

Conclusion to this story...we went to see it, and it was very musty!! Good thing that we did not have to drive 4.5 hours each way to see it!

We are not confused...we are very flexible and open to whatever we think may work for us.

Why won't the goats wear comfortable waking shoes.

Update: They agreed to move it to the location closer to us without agreeing to a price.

I am a little late to the party here but....

IF you decided against that trailer , DO NOT allow the dealer to move it for you... It will cost him a decent coin to make that happen.. AND if you have no intention of buying it , that would not be fair.

Janegowest...sorry I've been reading all your questions since last Oct and the more I read the more confused I get

Not as much as them.... I know they are trying to learn , and that's great but.... Back on 4/27/16 they were NOT buying the trailer due to its weight...

We had every intention of buying it if it did not smell moldy.

Update: They moved it, we went to see it, and it smelled moldy, so we ldid not buy it. They had taken our CC number fir a deposit but never ran it, so all is well. These were very nice people ti work with!

I've read a lot in this post about the dishonesty of sale people, but I do wonder about the integrity of the buying public.
In retirement we've bought five RV's some new, some used two from local dealers and 3 we've found on line many miles away and all have worked out just fine, we have had great sales people and along with checking out things on our own have relied on them.
