Need damage advice

So, about a year ago, our 5th wheel got stuck and high centered. I was able to pull it out with my truck, but it took some effort. About a week or so after that, I noticed that a crack had developed in the sidewall, above the bedroom slide. Fast forward a year, 2 more sidewalk cracks have develop as well as an interior crack in the bedroom and a leak in the ceiling above the main slide. Several other smaller things have happened too (like not being able to get the bedroom door open). I am positive there is significant frame damage. These are not repairs that I can afford to pay for out of pocket. Does insurance normally cover something like this? It seems like every time we go camping, we notice more damage. Any advice?
  • I have seen this before, hard pulling to unstuck a 5er bent the frame where the pinbox is mounted to the members under the overhead floor. Yes you have a problem.
This is why its not advisable to use a gooseneck extension on most 5ers, because of the added leverage. I hope you have comprehensive ins.
A truck frame repair shop is the place to go, not an rv shop.
  • True they might deny the claim, but you won't know until you try.

    Agree.

  • Report it quickly. Your policy may have a time limit on claims based on damage date.
  • Call your insurance company, it may be under comprehensive. We did significant damage to one side of our unit due to a tread separation in a tire and insurance paid $5k in damages and all under comprehensive.
