Need tire suggestions

My 5th wheel weighs about 13,000 lbs dry and 15,000 loaded. I currently have ST235-80R16 on it. I checked the max weight for these tires and they are 3500lbs at max pressure. Had a blow-out and am going to change all 4. Discount tire suggested I go with ST235-85R16 as they have a 3900lb max load and would be better and safer. They have the heartland which is their home brand and much less expensive than the Carlisle. But after reading all the posts from the past 6 months, it seems the group does not like the Carlisle and there's not much experience with the Heartland. Seems like the Maxxis is the preferred winner. Then my 2 neighbors both told me to put truck tires on the RV. But all the truck tires I found for 16" wheels do not support 4,000lbs each. Then I watched a couple of videos on utube from experts that say do not put truck tires on your RV as they don't dissipate heat well, and the ST series do. But my neighbors have the truck tires and they love them. But their RVs weigh much less than mine. So please help me decide, Carlisle or Maxxis? Or Truck tire, and which one? I make 1000 mile trips and don't want to get stuck. Many thanks for your thoughts! I live in Arizona with big time heat.

Also the G614 is a American made tire. That's a big plus!
The Goodyear Marathons that comes on a lot of camper are made in China and they are junk. Google "china bombs tires"

With the firmer sidewalls the RV will track better especially in windy conditions. I tow 33K combined at 75 in windy conditions all the time when the speed limit allows

The GY "G" has been trouble free since mid 07 so if you want to include the problems GY had prior to that then spell it out. But since they have a stellar record.

I will put on the Goodyear G14 . I'd rather put my money where the rubber meets the road! Appreciate the great input.

Good choice, you'll be very happy with them. After you get your Goodyear G614 installed come back on here and tell how much better your camper pulls. I was surprise in the difference on how pulls.

I've always wondered why manufacturers would go to the trouble of designing, manufacturing, stocking and marketing ST tires when they already have superior products in their LT lines.

Don't get caught up in the ST versus LT hype. The Goodyear G614 RST is an LT235/85R16G tire rated "trailer use only". The Sailun can't decide if it's an LT or ST - it's been labeled as both. The Michelin XPS Rib is an LT235/85R16E (to pick one size) tire that's rated for all-position use - that includes trailer service. Once you get to 17.5" tires, the ST and LT disappear. Both the Michelin XTA and the Goodyear G114 used under large, heavy 5th wheels such as our Mobile Suites are 215/75R17.5 tires - period. No ST or LT prefix.

When people post that they are happy or pleased with their tires is that because they haven't had a flat or other problems? Are there other attributes of trailer tires other than peace of mind. Do some track or stop better? Is their traction important especially when they need to scrub when backing up? Would some put unnecessary strain on suspension components because they don't side slip easy enough? I've always wondered why manufacturers would go to the trouble of designing, manufacturing, stocking and marketing ST tires when they already have superior products in their LT lines.

Another satisfied user of the Goodyear G614 RST tires under our previous Mobile Suites 36RE3. Tires are one of the areas where I don't "cheap out".

I'm so confident in my GY "H" tires I don't run a monitoring system. The two GY "H" tire problems I have heard of the tread was lost but no pressure loss.

Now just watch I will have a blow out!

Not having money to throw around, I have to decide where to spend lots of money and where I can not spend lots of money.

I've had the Sailuns for going on 3 years and very happy with them. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy them again when necessary. I saved around $1000 over the price of the Goodyear G614. So far I have no regrets, and that $1000 has bought me a lot of diesel fuel so far. 🙂 And FWIW there have been no reports of anyone, repeat anyone, having trouble with their Sailuns.
