New Tires

Getting ready to put new tires on my fifth wheel. Definitely going to get LT tires with a high load capacity- Will send this unit down the road in a year or two so I don't want to buy 17.5 " wheels so please only recommend tires that will fit on a 16" wheel.

Familiar with the Michelin Ribs and the Goodyear G614's- I am running these brand/model tires on two different trailers currently.

What else should I consider? The wheels are 6" HD and rated for up to 110 pounds of pressure. Only interested in tires that have at least 3000# rating or higher.

Thoughts?

    I'm trying the Sailun LT G-rated tires. They look good, but we'll see how it shakes out. I may regret spending $1000 less than for G614's but the only way to know is to give it a shot.

    I too, went with the Sailun S637 G rated tire. No problems so far and they look really good.

    I had a G614 let go last Fall after 3 years of use and religious care. My tires are always at correct pressure, covered...

    Kind of thinking that if I am only going to get a few years of service out of any set of tires it makes sense to look at options outside of $300 plus dollar Goodyear and Michelin options...

    Fly-Boy, do you have two or three axles? Did you file a claim with Goodyear on the failed G614 and for any damages. Goodyear is very good about picking up all the cost, provided you keep the failed tire and work with an authorized dealer to send it in to their engineers.

    I am trying the Michelin LTX 2. I just got a full set at America tires for 1050.00 out the door with road hazard and metal stems. They are also USA tires. I just retired my Tacoma tires, also USA tires, they came stock on my Challenger fifth wheel with 04 tire codes. They just started to show some surface cracks. If the Michelin hold up like those Tacoma tires I will be happy.
