newbie want TT w/best options best brands

newbie want a Travel Trailer with the best options what's the most important thing to look for ? I have always wanted a small camper for my husband and I now I have a about 10k to spend and want to buy something to tow with max weight 5000 lb I have been searching and like micro lite flagstaff and coachman has a new mini line that's similar I'm interested in people's opinions on things that are important to look for in quality. I want bunk beds for grand kids and a good bed for us. And I've heard plastic zippers on pop up bed styles break easily, and to look at storage size and many don't have full bath .I would like to know if there is a site for ratings or good ideas for buying.
  • Not looking for new I have been to the Rv shows and even sat in on the lectures for newbies to get some tips I'll take any like about storage and water tank size you don't look at those but they'll make a difference we'll be traveling mostly in campgrounds. I'm really just interested in personal opinion on brands and options that people like and don't like there's a ton of info I could spend yrs and I already could tell it's not regulated well
  • Agree about posting in the TT section vs the 5er section. But as a side note, I agree about the $10K, Pop-ups are now running $10K easy. If you're looking new, my guess is you'll spend $20K easy.
  • That is like asking "How long is a battleship?" and then expecting a "true" of "false" answer!
  • Pretty difficult to make suggestions without knowing how/where/when you plan on using it. An Rv for staying in RV lots of a whole different animal from one that is to be used for campgrounds or disburssed camping. Size would be another consideration that would help in suggesting how they're equipped.
    Good luck / Skip
  • Like said best is go to a rv show and look at different unites. Price wise $10000 might be tough without going used. Wife and I bought a 3 year old tt for $12000, Keystone Sprinter and love it.
  • The 'best' is the one YOU like.

Go to a RV Show, go to a large RV dealer that has several brands, go lookie-louing--------check out various brands/models paying attention to trailers GVWR (so you don't fall in love with one you can properly tow).

Find the ONE that is best for YOU.

    ALL have some issues.........ALL.
Sad but true.......RV mfgs. are NOT high on quality control.
    ALL have some issues.........ALL.
  • The "best brand " travel trailers are going to cost you a lot more than $10,000
  • You will get better answers if you post this in the travel trailer forum.
