I carry a folding step that I need to use to get my locking pin released when un hoking the fifth wheel... I'm 5'11"
Could possibly make it, but would struggle, I learnt to work smarter in my older age, thus the telescoping magnet to grab the pin, and the step to reach the pinhole.
Come out West and I will make you a proper step.
I could use one of those...I just grab the bed rail with my right foot on the tire and pull myself up...but at 55 years old and 250 lbs... those days are getting numbered.
By the way, just got back from a 1,500 mile round trip pulling the Pinnacle...the Ram turned over 55,000 miles on this trip...running like a champ right now :)
I do have one setting in my shop. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

Ron,
If I come out west, were hoping on that boat and catching some shrimp, then fish, then if time allows building a step!!
Sounds good to me!!!
White KING, very tasty!!! - mdcampingExplorerI'm just north of 6', I keep a 2' step ladder for getting inside the truck bed with cap, I have found the ford tail gate ladder to high off the ground for my arthritic knees. I remember shopping trucks last year seemed the GM & Dodge products had lower to the ground running boards, wished ford offered the same as that has been in issue for DW

Yeah, my first car was a 1886 S-15. Not suitable for towing but comparing it to the new "compact" pickups, the new ones are pretty much the same size as 1/2 ton trucks.
If I didn't need a tow vehicle, I would look at Ford's new Mavrick. Seems like they are offering a small truck again. - Ron,

- buckyExplorer IIDually fenders make it even harder to reach the 5er hitch. I use a little white plastic folding step and I'm 6'2".
