My 5th wheel tires are LT235/85R16 LRG with very low mileage but 8 years old. So, time to replace them. What is generally considered to be a quality American made replacement brand?

The best option price wise, and dependability is the S637 Sailuns they out shine G614's in every category .

The Sailuns have been out on the market way too long, and have proven themselves. There is no longer lets wait, and see. The wait is over, that have proven themselves.

I will stick with GY. I have owned one set US Made "E", two sets US Made "G" and two sets of US Made "H". MANY thousands of miles and not even a flat!

Oh and if there is an issue GY WILL pay for damages and not have to put a claim on my ins policy.

Nice to have options, I am willing to pay extra.

^^^^^Supposedly good tires, but not "G" rated tires.

There is actually another option for G rated tires (if you live in the western part of the country). Les Schwab sells a G rated tire called the Geostar. Bought 4 last year for my toy hauler, so don't have a lot of time or miles on them yet. I selected those tires mostly based on my experiences and reputation of Les Schwab.

Luv LS but the Geostars, imop, are not in the same league as others in the G choices.

My 5th wheel is a Jayco Designer, GVWR 15,800. The current tires are the originals so I doubt that they are more than needed; I sure will not put anything less on the trailer. THANKS for all the info....

Well, he didn't ask for opinions on sizes and application, just a simple question about "G" rated tires. Why speculate unnecessarily?

OP has 'LRG' tires....

Those are 'G' rated and only 2 options Goodyear or Sailun

Unless I missed it somewhere, the OP did NOT give us any trailer info.

So - even though he has LRG tires now.....does he really need G rated
tires for the 5th he has??..:h

(At some point did he - or a previous owner, if there was one - go with "overkill" for tires?)

Apparently the Load Range "G" was completely overlooked by many posters. ๐Ÿ™‚ Those LT tires named will not cut the mustard if a "G" rated tire is needed.

Yeah, I missed that, sorry.

Some comments over looked and some ignored. I would like to know what the OP's rig is. Perhaps he has tires that exceed his needs. When I purchased my current rig it had Chinese St's and I had the BFG Commerical T/A's tires and rims from my old rig swapped. After one thrown tread, another busted belt I went to the Transforce 245/75R16. Both rigs had/have 5200# axles.

I was using BF Goodrich Commercial T/A's at 225/75R16. Two of those same Goodrich tires in 245/75R16 on my truck had broken belts. I replaced them with Cooper.

Excellent track record since mid 2007 production.

Actually had bad batches in 2006/2007 and again in 2010

Thread separation/sidewall blow outs....BOOM
Goodyear replaced 2 on my 5th wheel and paid for damages twice.

So not quite 'excellent track record'.....BUT they did stand behind their failures.
