I always unhook, even if I only pull forward just far enough to get the kingpin out of the bed.
Why? Because it forces me to go through my entire departure checklist in the morning. If I deviate from that routine, I run the very strong risk of forgetting something important. It also makes it much easier to run out if I need fuel, or if DW gets a late-night taco craving (those can be dangerous).
The only time I do not unhook is if I'm in a parking lot overnight.
