Assume utility will be hooked up, my question is do you un-hook and level,extend slides or stayed hooked up to TV and lower jacks then extend slides, or do nothing but extend slides?Trying to learn based on your experience what works best without doing more than necessary. In a motor home we would just extend slides and relax with a beer. With the fiver not sure that is enough as the frame is not as rigid.As always thanks,Jim

No. Unless I need to stock up on supplies, even then I try to stop to stock up before going to campground.

Overnight?. we rarely even hook up to services unless I have to dump the tanks. There is nothing on either of our rigs that runs any different on services than off with the exception of the AC. Probably why we try to avoid campgrounds when dead heading.

I put the jacks down to stabilize the trailer but do not unhook.

We put jacks down to stabilize and open slides but do not unhook if just a one night stop. If temp is hot, we plug into electric to run AC.

If it is just for one night we don't normally unhook as long as the site is reasonably level, just drop the jacks to stabilize the trailer.

we are new to this too. the idea of going to fuel so you don't have to stop for fuel the next day is a great idea. I will use it. I never thought about that. we usually stop in rest areas though. I use the generator then. thanks for the insight.

Yes on the stabilizer jacks.

Caveat: If "overnighting" at a Wally (or), I only only put out the bedroom slide just enough to use bed. No stabilizer (jacks).

In either case, I prefer to disconnect the 7 pin from the TV.

Although I always do a walk around before leaving - I like to leave a note on the steering wheel as a "CRS" reminder..:W

Some WM parking lots aren't that quiet. They often like to run a vacuum/sedper machine in the wee hours of the morning. I've experiencecd that at times.
Wallyworld does not have electric hookups to run the A/C.

We disconnect as well since our stock truck is so high that the trailer travels nose high. If I tried to level the trailer for traveling I would have no bed rail clearance

If it's a quick overnight stop (6 to 8 hrs) I do not unhook. I only plug in and run the slides out.

I always unhook to fuel and eat out. I don't have a problem hooking up again. We only travel 5-6 hrs each day because we are retired and hurry up is not in our routine.

X2 (or however many have said this). We don't always eat out but I like to get set up using my normal routine, just to keep in practice. The only thing I don't always do is connect to the sewer, but that depends on where we were the night before and where we are going the next day. And there have been numerous times that we decided to stay an extra day or two. Hooking back up is no problem for me.

As you can see, there is no one way to do this. You will establish your own routine after you've had a few stops. Good luck and happy travels.

I will always unhook, for me it's a process I do every time we are out. If I do it just now and then, I might forget something I should have done. Yes, you can leave it hooked up, but for me it's better if I drop it and re-hook in the morning. Sorta of, keeps me in the game.
