Perfect timing

I just finished removing the furnace vent in my basement. We spent 3 months in FL and heating the basement from the same vent tube as the bedroom seemed to be a waste. No need to heat this area if the temps are going to be above freezing.

After removing the vent and hose I moved the remaining hose and cleared up a 14"x36" space. I reframed the wall to make this a usable space. I also added a 120v receptacle.

Now with the cold snap for the next two nights (26 degs) I'll just pop in my little electric heater set on low.

Some thing weird must be about to happen because things don't normally work out for me like this.
  • Or you could do like we did when I was a kid. We would run a drop cord and 100watt light to the pump house to keep it from freezing. But that assumes you are watching the weather. Your original set up was a form of "don't have to think" for the general public.;)
