Pin Box Foam

I saw a 5th wheel trailer at the Tampa rv show with one of these foam pin box ,I don't know what they are called.It goes on the front and both sides.It is held on the back with an elastic strap.It protects you if you walk into the pin box.Does anyone know where I can purchase one of these? Thanks.

My problem is the small slideout in the front bed area...you come around that corner and the slide is right at head high. A foam noodle fixed it. But u have to remember to put in place.

I have put a couple of plastic traffic cones beneath the pin box. You are usually looking down when you hit your head, so they are in sight.

Agreed. I've had one of these now for 5+ years and absolutely love it. My fear wasn't so much of me hitting my head on the pin but more of having kids at the site and one of them clocking themselves on it.

A pink swimming pool noodle cut to fit the front width of the pin box and slit to grab the edge. Bright color and effective.

Buy some cheap pool noodles and split them long-ways. Cut to length and notch the corners. Usually it'll be tight enough that you don't even have to secure it with anything. Save the extra in the storage locker, or use it to make pads for your bedroom slide corners. :B

I have a length of yellow plastic safety chain that I hang from the pin box when disconnected.... when bumbling around with my head down, I may not see the pin box but I will see the chain hanging there to remind me to not go there without looking up.... sometimes when unhooked by my shop, I just place a safety cone on the ground under the pin for the same reason....

the foam block in the photo may save you from a nasty mark on the head, but its better if you can avoid it altogether...

Omaha Steaks.

Wife ordered a bunch of steaks and they came packed in a styrofoam box with dry ice. Went walking walking by the 5r with the box headed for the trash and thought "wait a minute..". The box fits perfectly with a slight interference fit on the pin box. No more shoulder injuries and a decent steak to boot.
