it is a 2.6
we will have power about 75% of time this yr.

turned on my Magic chef last night. in 30" was down to 12 in freezer section. no doubt the Dometic might be a better product, but for 680 more, and both have to be plugged in, will try the Magic Chef. we looked and it will ride well inside of trailer till we get camped. it will also fit in back seat of new Ram. am looking at checking on watts, I might try using my 350 inverter while traveling. any thoughts

I see a lot of the Dometic on slide outs from MH cabinets, and they look like a nice product for a full timer to use for freezing or tailgaters for cooling beverages. About $700 worth of fun, but I'm thinking they will do a better job than the thinly insulated HD ones.

I'm thought about the home depot type just to cool beverages at the campsite, but I'm not sure where to put it down the road. I don't think you can lay them down and my basement is full up.

HMBR265WE1 - The Home Depot Magic Chef

Price is certainly right...

We are still using the 5-day ice chest filled with ice and have a see through plastic container in the top with a lid to prevent water soak...

Sits in the tailgate corner in my truck bed covered with my fold-a-top bed cover all the the time...

I have a Norcold portable freezer/refrigerator that was standard with the coach when new. It fits in the basement bay and runs off of either 120 volt (from the inverter/converter) or straight 12 volt from the house batteries. I built a "dog house" from 2 inch thick construction foam to improve the efficiency and I haven't noticed any significant power draw overnight while dry camping. We use it to store frozen food and ice. It uses a standard Freon refrigeration system, not a solid state or propane. It works great.

You might want to try a 12-volt cooler. We have one made by Coleman that we use when boondocking.
