BTW - the bulbs in the silver ring fixtures are 20 Watts whereas the bulbs in the plain frosted glass (no rim) fixtures are 10 Watts.

We have the same unit. You need to hold the chrome ring fixed. Don't pull it down too far as the spring tensioners will pop. You have to kind of push up on the frosted glass lense and twist it. I had a hard time getting a good grip on the lense and ended up using one of those rubber can opener grip pads to get enough friction on the glass to twist it.

Absolutely, 1/4 turn (counter clockwise on the ring as you look at them from the front, or from the floor up)

Try twisting CCW on the chrome ring. The lights I have in my kitchen are twist lock. Quarter turn is enough.

For a sec there I thought we were talking about thousand-watt halogens.

Probably pull down on the chrome rings.
