Propane Quick Connect

Has anyone had an issue with the propane quick connect on your RV?
I tried connecting a Camp Chef Cook Stove to it using the 8 foot hose I bought for that purpose but I get very little or no propane to the stove. The stove tried to light a couple of times but now I can't even smell propane at the stove.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,

Just wanted to follow up on my issue with the quick connect on my trailer.
The problem was simply that the connect sleeve wasn't completely closing. I lubed it up and now everything works great........still need to perfect my Grill Cooking skills but things are looking up!!
Thanks to everyone who responded to my post.....I appreciate all the valuable, first hand information I get on the this forum!!

As already stated if you have a regulator on the grill itself it won't work on the low pressure side of the propane line. The quick connect on the RV is most likely hooked up to the low pressure side.

Mine works fine...same setup it sounds. Factory quick connect on the trailer, 8 ft hose, camp chef stove/grill with hose connected directly to the stove not using the regulator on the hose that came with the stove. Good luck.

Thanks for the responses.
Yes I have the lever turned to the on position and have the 8 foot hose connected to the stove.
This is the first time I tried using the new stove so now that I'm home, I will connect it to a separate tank using the regulator that came with the stove to see what happens.
I was wondering if the stove requires "high pressure" but the comments in this thread tell me it should work fine with the low pressure system on the 5th wheel. I will do the process of elimination and see what I come up with.
Again....Thank You all for your help!!

I use a Camp Chef with my RV's quick connect. I tapped into the gas line after the tanks. I had a propane store make a hose with a female screw in end that goes to the Camp Chef. The other is the usual quick connect end.
The propane tank regulator needs to be removed from the Camp Chef. That leaves a male end. Thats where you screw in the hose.

My camper did not come with a quick connect so I installed one downstream of the regulator. I bought the 8' hose on Amazon to use with my Camp Chef Ranger 3 burner and it works fine. The hose I bought does not have a regulator like the short one that came with the stove. I did have one problem when a dirt dobber had built in the metal gas pipe in the bottom of the stove. Does your stove light on a separate tank and the hose that come with the stove? (in my case, "it worked last time I used it" didn't count)

I put a tee and a quick connect on my fifth wheel couple weekends ago (after the regulator like everything else) with a 10' hose for my Camp Chef and it works like it should and so should yours. I used it all Memorial Day weekend. Dumb question but did you flip the little lever open on your quick connect?

Just taking a stab at your problem-----I think the regulator for the rv is a lp or low pressure reg. Your cooker needs high pressure. When I was getting my Open Range set up like I wanted it I was suspicious of that quick connect. Sure enough I had just enough flame to burn your hand, not boil seafood for sure. All I did was make up a quick connect for my fish cooker that I can mate to the onboard tanks. That way I do not have to take an extra lp cylinder everywhere I go. I have 3 -20 lb cylinders and I just use them. Rig up a hose like that and I think your problem will be solved.
