The OPD in the cylinder and the excess flow check valve in the pigtails that have the Acme nut are not the same thing. They protect you from two different hazards. The Acme nut also includes a thermal bushing that melts in the presence of fire, and will disconnect the pigtails from the valves.
I’m not familiar with that brand of regulator. Is it two stage?
