rain leaking thru slide

I noticed water on the floor and on the stove top one day. I wasn't sure where it came from. Then a couple more times I noticed the the stove top had some more water on it. A couple of days ago it came a bad rain storm. I seen water coming from underneath the kitchen slide and coming in from behind the exhaust fan onto the stove top. When the rain stopped ofcourse the leaking stopped. I have a 2015 Montana Mountaineer 356tbf 5th wheel. I had some other small issues so I carried it in yesterday for warranty repairs. I showed the Camping World guy where the leaking was coming from on the walkdown. He was scratching his head on the leaking. He said maybe the rain was coming in from the exhaust vent on the side of the slide. Has anyone else had this same issue?

We had a problem slide leak above the dining table in our then new 2013 Cougar 331MKS (opposite side from the stove). We took it back to the dealer several times. And, next time out in the rain (we live in the Seattle area; it rains here!), the leak was back. They said they did negative pressure checks, blamed us for not checking for cracked caulking, etc. But, every time it rained after the dealer sad they had fixed it, it leaked. So one day in the rain I looked at the slide and water seemed to pool in a certain area against the seal. So I brought the 5th wheel back to the dealer. What did they do? They said that the roof backer board was warped so they replaced the entire slide roof at no cost to us. I asked why they didn't look at that to begin with. I was told that they try cheaper options first. So, I was stuck cleaning and drying the interior several times, driving it back and forth to the dealer, and them spending time (and their money) on fixes that did not address the problem. The moral of the story: be persistent with the dealer/repair facility and research on your own if you want a positive result.

Close the flap (most have tabs to keep closed) and garden hose spray it....

Try this....retract the slide about six--nine inches. I had a leak when it really poured and no one could find out why. This worked for my situation, as I haven't had a leak since.

I've had this happen on two different campers. The rain was coming through under the flap. Since I never used my range fan I just caulked the flap shut. Never leaked again.

Probably bad/incomplete caulking around the exterior vent cover.

The only "real" fix is to remove the cover, clean the side of the trailer and reinstall the vent with new vinyl tape and non-sag caulk.

Not hard or time consuming, but the dealer probably will not want to do this. They may apply band-aid caulk, but it really needs to be completely redone.
