Would love to have done that but New York says that those are considered a trailer and we can't double tow.I wound up selling my Hitchhiker and going to a trailer with the Rampage in the back of the truck. Works slicker than .......
With a little practice you'll get used to getting the bike in the cradle just right so that it straightens up as the cradle locks. Just be cautious that you don't get the bike too far down on the forks as it will cause problems with the seals.
Indeed. The first time we tried to set it up as in the booklet that comes with the Rampage, and got it too tight. Just too little play remained. Took about 5 tries to get it where I liked it (just locking down and releasing the cradle).
Then we got it so it had about a 5 degree tilt. Took it all the way up and down and it felt very unsteady. Reset to verticle. Felt very steady.
Before, I dredded taking it up and down, even though I had excellent ramps (12 ft Black Widow, 3 pieces wide, very strong and stable). Now, it's a snap that I don't dred at all. :B
I wish I had gone this route the first time.
