You should run all AC's on high speed fan. Low speed fan will cause them to ice up. Low speed is for heating/furnace operation only.

Lol...if you are having icing issues, yes, running on high will help.

Maybe you don't have auto, but the reason for the auto setting, is to let it decide, it will go to high speed fan when it needs to, if not it stays on low. It may start out on high, when set to auto, if set temp is 6 degrees lower than actual inside temp. Mine catches up fairly fast, and then pauses, sets itself on low speed.

If you have auto setting, you can do yourself a favor, by reading your manual, to better understand.

One last tip...with fan on auto, while using the furnace, the AC fan does not run, only the furnace fan runs.

I've been following this as we are wanting to replace our AC as well. Current unit is a ducted Duo Therm mod: 57915.541.

Looks like the Brisk Air II would fit, and PPL.com has the unit on sale for $466.00 unit 6/8/18. But since I know nothing about this kind of stuff I do have a couple of questions.


1. Assuming that this will work as a replacement, do I need to purchase the inside air distribution box, or does it come with the unit?


2. Will my current thermostat work or would it need to be replaced?

Bob -- can you tell me where you found the directions?
I have a Brisk Air 2 13.5 sitting in its box (since February) and I am hoping to install it some time in June.

Lots of difference in location. Yes, in extreme heat/high humidity, it is good to keep air moving. In some cases, running fan on high will prevent freeze ups. In my area, Iv'e never had a freeze up, or had a time when my 15K Dometic would not easily keep up with cooling.

I had to use the new LCD thermostat but I prefer to have the fan run all the time. I think it helps to circulate air all the time, kind of like a ceiling fan.

My experience with the Atwood heat pump has been dismal .....It only runs for 2 minutes then shuts off and Atwood claims it is designed to work that way with the out side temps in the 50's the pump will not raise the temp inside to 70 degrees because it will not run long enough....I regret ever buying it....

I don’t use auto. It shuts the fan off.

I want moving air over the coils to help dry them to help prevent mildew so leave it on low.
