You should run all AC's on high speed fan. Low speed fan will cause them to ice up. Low speed is for heating/furnace operation only.
Lol...if you are having icing issues, yes, running on high will help.
Maybe you don't have auto, but the reason for the auto setting, is to let it decide, it will go to high speed fan when it needs to, if not it stays on low. It may start out on high, when set to auto, if set temp is 6 degrees lower than actual inside temp. Mine catches up fairly fast, and then pauses, sets itself on low speed.
If you have auto setting, you can do yourself a favor, by reading your manual, to better understand.
One last tip...with fan on auto, while using the furnace, the AC fan does not run, only the furnace fan runs.
