refrig help

I have posted on another thread about replacing the refrigerator with a new unit. I think we have decided to replace the cooling unit only due to the ammonia smell in the rig. However, the other problem the fridge was having is the inside light was not coming on and the little led lights where not coming on on the control panel. I verified the fuse in the trailer fuse box was good and verified there is 110v at the outlet for the fridge. Do the fridges have a sensor that shut them down when the gas leaks out or does it sound like there are other problems?

This is for a 2005-2006 pilgrim 27bhs fifth wheel not the m/h in my sig
  • Did you check to see that you have 12 volts at the refrigerator computer panel. Might be a wiring problem.

There is also a 12 volt fuse on the frige's computer panel. That fuze may be blown.
  • I found the problem. there is a thermal protection on the burner incase of overheat.
  • A shout out to Dave at rvcoolingunit.com... we replaced the cooling unit with one of his brand new units and it works GREAT! When we had questions along the way, he was there to answer them and gave good advice...Thank you Dave!!!
