Hi travelers. We are in California and recently received DMV registration renewal fee of $700.00 for our 2016 35ft fifth Wheel. I was just curious, in your state what does it cost to renew your registration. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Michigan the only state with one time registration?

Va does, but the cost depends on weight, over 4000lbs (the heaviest) is $100

I thought in VA you had to pay that PPT on assessed value every year?

You do, and thats a county issue, not state. My last one on the older TT was only about $25. But I am very rural. Northern counties near DC can be much higher.

Yes $12.00 but we have the pleasure of one of the highest gas taxes in the country to make up for it LOL.
I wouldn't say it was a "pleasure". ๐Ÿ˜ž

No two states have the same taxes and fees. What may be high in some states, is low in others. By one means or another, the politicians grab your money. :M

Too many geezers, self appointed moderators, experts, and disappearing posts for me. Enjoy. How many times can the same thing be rehashed over and over?

In Michigan over 10000 pounds is 300.00. Mine is just under by a few pounds only 200.00 and this is for as long as you own it.

In Michigan it depends on the size of the trailer...A utility trailer is $75.00 for the life of the trailer (as long as the same person owns it) but it goes to $200 and $300 for a one time fee and most are $300.00 (at least the ones I have owned)

Colorado's registration fees are based on the value of the vehicle, cars, trucks, trailers, street legal motorcycles, it doesn't make any difference. When I registered my trailer (2012 Voltage 3200) in 2011 as a new vehicle, I think I paid about $1,600 for the first year. Last year my registration fee
for the trailer was about $330, so the fees decline fairly rapidly, as does the value of the trailer (ain't depreciation wonderful?). At some point, the registration fees will bottom out. For my 2002 DRZ 400, that is now about $58 per year, I don't have any idea what the bottom will be for my truck or trailer, assuming I keep them for 12 or 15 years. It costs to have toys in Colorado.

Less than a $100 here in FL and we don't pay a $1000 to register our trucks either.

They are your politicians, you may not have voted for them but a majority of someones did.
